    DE LA REGLA WAS THE FLAG SHIP OF THE 1715 FLEET, WHCIH DEPARTED HAVANA ON JULY 24TH, 1715.

THIS 300 TON GALLEON WAS WRECKED OFF THE CENTRAL FLORIDA COAST IN A 1571 HURRICANE; IT WAS SAILING WITH A SECOND GALLEON WHICH ALSO SANK IN THE STORM. THE SHIPS LEFT ST. AUGUSTINE AND WERE BOUND FOR HAVANA WHEN THE STORM CAUGHT THEM NORTH OF CAPE CANAVERAL. A FEW SURVIVORS MADE IT TO SHORE AND AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS REACHED ST. AUGUSTINE.
